Weekly Announcements 5/24/20

Hello Miller Families, Below please find this school year’s final weekly important announcements. If you were unable to return school materials, and pick up your child’s items last week, please know that there will be one last opportunity to do so this Tuesday, May 26 between 9:00am-12:00pm. It will be a drive-thru service, similar to the procedure from last week. No need to make an appointment; just come on by. If you haven’t yet already done so, please provide your input with regard to the district’s distance learning via the parent survey available on our website. We know you have many questions regarding the 2020-2021 school year. As these plans are finalized, we will be sure to communicate them to you as quickly as we can. But, for now, please know that school will resume on Wednesday, August 12. Please check our website for information updates. And lastly, I’d like to thank you all for your understanding, patience, and perseverance as we finish this most incredible, extraordinary year. Thanks, and have a wonderful summer break.

Weekly Announcements 5/17/20

Hello Miller Families, Please read below for this week’s important announcements. To effectively plan for the new school year, we need an accurate count of our returning students. If your child is a TK through 5th grade student, and will NOT be returning to GB Miller for the 2020/2021 school year, please inform us via email or phone message, as soon as possible. Please call the school’s main number at (714) 228-3270, or address the email to Dee Dee Pangle, our Office Manager, and myself. Our email addresses are available on our website. And speaking of enrollment, please be looking for a separate email regarding TK and Kinder enrollment for the 2020/2021 school year! We’ve previously sent out information regarding the pick-up and return of school and personal student items that is occurring this upcoming week. Please see our website for details with dates and times for each grade level. The flyer is available on the Peachjar app, on our website, and on our Twitter feed. As a reminder, please know that report cards this year will be delivered electronically from your child’s teacher via email. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have questions. Mid-Week Announcement

Hello Evening Miller Families, Below please find an important mid-week announcement. This is the schedule for students to return to school any items that need to be collected, and to receive required items from the school. Items to be collected include library books, Strings instruments, and student Chromebooks, if you so choose. Please remember that you may keep the borrowed Chromebook until the second week in July. This of course, does not apply to our 6th grade students. It is mandatory that they turn in their devices. This will be a drive-thru procedure, similar to how we’ve distributed student Chromebooks. To ensure social distancing, we are requiring that no one get out of their car. Thanks for your understanding. The times are staggered so as to avoid wait times. Please see the schedule below: Monday, 5/18 TK 9:00-11:00 Kinder 10:00-12:00 Tuesday, 5/19 1st 9:00-11:00 2nd 10:00-12:00 Wednesday, 5/20 3rd 9:00-11:00 4th 10:00-12:00 Thursday, 5/21 5th 9:00-11:00 6th 10:00-12:00 Until we can all be together again, please use technology and creativity to stay connected with each other, and engaged in learning. As we continue Distance Learning, please know that there is a wealth of information and resources available to parents and families on our website. Go to cesd.us and click on the pop up that reads, “District Distance Learning Plan.” It’s really extraordinary how many resources are available through this one page. Additionally, please be looking for a Distance Learning update soon from our Superintendent, Norma Martinez. I will send out a separate communication for that as soon as it is available. To effectively plan for the new school year, we need an accurate count of our returning students.
