11/3/19 Hello Miller Families, Below please find this week’s important announcements. Our next PTA meeting is tomorrow, Monday, November 4 in our Innovation Lab beginning at 6:00pm. The Bookfair is coming to Miller School all next week! Your child will have an exclusive day/time for their class to visit the Fair. In addition to that, we have a special Family Event on Thursday, November 7 during your child’s lunch time. It’s called Booknic, and we invite you to come have a picnic lunch with your child and shop the Bookfair together. Please come early if you’d like to join us that day, and remember to sign in at the office before coming onto campus. Also on Thursday is our next District English Learner Advisory Committee (or DELAC) meeting which will be held at the Walter Knott Education Center in the Multi-Purpose Room, and begins at 9:00am. This meeting is for parents of English Learners, but all are welcome to attend! Thanks and have a wonderful week.
Hello Miller Families, Below please find this week’s important announcements. Tomorrow morning our sixth graders will be leaving for science camp. Since many of the sixth grade parents will want to stay and see their child off to camp and will also be unloading luggage, please use extra patience and caution in our parking lots. It would be an excellent idea to walk to school tomorrow if possible! Again, they will be leaving tomorrow morning. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Red Ribbon Challenge in the Park. It was great to see you all! Our Harvest Parade is this Thursday morning beginning at approximately 8:30am. Students have been given guidelines about the appropriateness of their costumes. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the office. It is hard to believe that the end of the first trimester is this Friday – we’ve almost completed an entire one third of the school year. Congratulations to all of us! Thanks and have wonderful week.

Hello Miller Families, Below please find this week’s important announcements. Red Ribbon Week is the week! There are different activities and events for students each day, the details for which went home last Friday. The student flyer can also be found on our website. Please plan to be with us SATURDAY MORNING on October 26 in Central Park as we defend our title as the Red Ribbon Week Challenge in the Park champions! We’ve won three years in a row, and we don’t want to lose now. You can sign in as early as 7:00am and up until 9:30am. A free pancake breakfast will also be provided. Please join us! This Wednesday, October 23rd is Astronomy Night. Viewing begins at 7:15pm. So as to ensure a dark sky, the playground lights will be off, and therefore the campus will be dark. To ensure safety, all students must be with a responsible adult at all times, and the playground equipment will naturally be closed. Participants may bring a flashlight for safety, however it must be used wisely and always pointed downward so that people’s eyes stay adjusted to the darkness. Please know that this is weather-permitting event, and if it is cloudy, the event may need to be cancelled. Thank you for your understanding. Thanks and have a wonderful week.

Hello Miller Families, Below please find this week’s important announcements. PTA would like you to know that if you missed the deadline to turn in your Reflections submission, it’s not too late! They will accept entries tomorrow as well. Please bring them directly to the office with the appropriate paperwork. The Entry Packet can be found on our website under PTA, and then Reflections Art. The annual Disaster Drill is this Thursday, October 17 beginning at approximately 9:00am. Please know that the school office will be closed, and the phones will not be answered during this time. No visitors will be allowed on or off campus after the drill has begun, and until its conclusion. We should be finished by approximately 10:00am. Thank you so much for your understanding as we create preparedness, and join in the Great California Shakeout. Red Ribbon Week is almost here! Please mark your calendars now for the week of October 21-26. Details will be available from your child’s teacher and also on our website. Make-Up Picture Day is this Wednesday, October 9 for students who were absent, or would like to retake their picture. Our wonderful PTA would like you to know that all submissions for the Reflections program are due this Friday, October 11. This year’s theme is “Look Within.” We encourage all students to create a submission. Information packets are available in the school office, and informational flyer is on the school’s website under PTA. And finally, please know that much information can be found on our website, especially on the calendar. Hello Miller Families, Below please find this week’s important announcements. Our next School Site Council meeting is tomorrow Monday, September 30 @ 2:30pm in our Conference Room. This meeting is open to the public. This Friday, October 4 is next Coffee Chat with the Principal which begins at 8:15am in our Innovation Lab. This is a great opportunity to get to know me, and discuss important issues for Miller School. This time we will be reviewing the annual CAASPP data. Also this Friday beginning at 6:00pm is Movie Night sponsored by PTA. We will be watching Aladdin. Please know that due to safety reasons, and for the enjoyment of the movie, the playground will be closed. Students will need to remain with their families in the movie area. And finally, please mark your calendar now that NEXT Monday, October 7 is a non-student day. Once again, there will be no school NEXT Monday. Thanks and have wonderful week.

Please remember that this week, all week, is Parent Teacher Conferences. Students will be DISMISSED EARLY all week. Once again, students in grades 1st-6th will be released at 1:30 every day this week, and TK/K will be released at 1:15 every day this week. Hello Miller Families! Below please find this week’s important announcements. This Thursday, September 19 there will be a Parent Informational Meeting regarding our new standards-based CESD report card. This meeting begins at 6:00pm in the Los Coyotes Multi-Purpose Room. Once again, this meeting will be held at Los Coyotes School. A reminder from our Food Services Department. They would like to remind you that our students’ prior year benefit status for Free or Reduced Breakfast and Lunch will expire on September 18th. If a new application has not been submitted for processing, the students will automatically be changed to the "PAID" status, and any meals received will be charged the full amount. The application can be found on the district website under Departments, and then Food Services. Please remember that this Friday, September 20th is a Non-Student Day. There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, September 20. Thanks and have a wonderful week.
